What is Auto Lock?
Auto Lock means your door lock will automatically lock itself a set number of seconds after you close the door. No more worrying about whether you remembered to lock the door—it’s all taken care of for you.
Why Auto Lock is a Must-Have for Me
Oh... I forgot to lock the door... again.
Honestly, I’ve had so many moments where I come home after a busy day, juggling bags and kids, and just as I’m about to unlock the door, it hits me: Did I actually lock the door this morning? That sudden panic is like a classic urban nightmare.
Every time, I promise myself I’ll remember next time—but when you’re rushing to drop kids off and get to work, your brain just blanks out. I wish there was an invisible guardian locking the door for me—and that’s exactly what Auto Lock does.
For my elderly dad, this feature is even more crucial. As memory fades, the risk of leaving the door unlocked increases. Auto Lock acts like a personal security assistant, ensuring the door is always locked, so I can relax knowing he’s safe.
🛠️ How to Set Up Auto Lock on TTLock
Download and log in to the TTLock app.
Select your lock from the home screen.

Go to the lock settings, find the “Auto Lock” option.

Turn on Auto Lock.
Set your preferred delay time before auto-lock activates.

Save the settings and sync to your lock.
⚠️Important Reminder:
After selecting your preferred auto lock delay time, don’t forget to save the settings and sync them to your lock. I’ve had customers tell me their auto lock wasn’t working—only to find out they simply forgot this last step. So double-check before calling it quits!
Real-Life Testing: Finding the Perfect Delay Time
When I first activated Auto Lock, I became a bit of a “time scientist,” testing different delay intervals. You know how it goes—right at the last second before leaving, you suddenly realize you forgot your hat, bag, or phone.
If the delay is too short, the door locks before you’re ready, and then you have to unlock it again with your phone. I went through a few rounds of this “unlock adventure” until I found the perfect sweet spot: 30 seconds.
It gives me just enough time to grab everything without standing outside looking silly.
If you’re more impatient than me, 20 seconds might work. But anything over a minute feels a bit too long—leaving your door open for too long can feel unsafe.
Tips & Tricks
Choose a delay time that fits your daily routine.
Make sure family members and caregivers know how it works.
If you use Passage Mode, be sure to enable Auto Lock as well. That way, once the passage time ends, your door will automatically lock again—keeping your home secure without any extra hassle.
Pair it with remote unlocking for emergencies.
