We’ve got the keys to our new home! 🔑
It’s a day worth remembering.
And for the first time, I truly understand what it feels like to have a home.
When we first stepped inside,
I didn’t look at the kitchen.
I didn’t look at the walls.
I looked at the door.
And the first thing that came to my mind was…
how much easier this door could be to use.
Maybe it’s just an occupational habit 😅
🔧 Old Door, Real Life
It’s quite an old door.
At first, I actually thought about replacing it completely.
Since we’re planning to do insulation and windows anyway,
it felt like something that could wait.
So we kept using the original lock for a few days.
And honestly… I couldn’t stand it. 😅
You needed two hands to open the door,
and had to lift the handle just to lock it properly.
It sounds small, but when you’re doing it every day —it quickly becomes frustrating.
So in the end,we didn’t replace the door.
We just changed the lock.

And the difference?
Immediate.
It’s still the same old door —but somehow, it feels completely new.
If anything, I found myself wonderingwhy I didn’t do it a few days earlier.
And then I realised something simple —you don’t always need something brand new to change how a home feels.
💡 A Small Thing That Made a Big Difference
One small thing I did during setup and I didn’t expect it to matter this much —
I added fingerprints from both hands.
Both thumbs, and even my right index finger.
Because let’s be real…sometimes your hands are full.
Groceries. Bags. Maybe even holding a child.
And you don’t always have the “right” hand free.
Moreover, If your door is older, don’t assume it won’t work.
Most of the time,it’s not about replacing everything —it’s about choosing the right fit.
And then it hits me,
It’s funny how something as simple as a door lock can change the way a place feels.
Not just more secure.
Not just more convenient.
But…
more like home.
💬 My Final Thought
It’s not about how big the change is.
It’s about how often you feel it.
And I have a feeling…
things will only get better and better from here.
